ABSTRACT

This study is to examine the effect of cultural adaptation on life satisfaction among marriage migrant women and to verify the mediating role of social support in this relationship. The main findings can be summarized as follows. First, cultural adaptation was identified as a key factor influencing life satisfaction among marriage migrant women. Second, social support functioned as an important resource that enhanced life satisfaction during the process of cultural adaptation. Third, the effect of cultural adaptation on life satisfaction was found to be partially mediated by social support. Fourth, improving the quality of life of marriage migrant women requires not only individual-level adaptation efforts but also the establishment of supportive social and institutional environments. Meanwhile, this study is limited by its reliance on cross-sectional data and self-reported measures, suggesting the need for longitudinal approaches in future research. In addition, the development of integrated, community-based support systems for marriage migrant women is proposed as a practical implication.
