AB - This study examines the effects of the vulnerability of social capital on successful aging among Christian older adults in the context of demographic changes and verified the mediating effect of Isaiah's compassion as presented in the Book of Isaiah. A survey was conducted with 343 Christian older adults aged 65 years and over living in the Seoul metropolitan area, and the structural relationships among the major variables were analyzed. The results showed that the vulnerability of social capital negatively affected successful aging and significantly influenced Isaiah's compassion. Isaiah's compassion positively affected successful aging and partially mediated the relationship between the vulnerability of social capital and successful aging. These findings suggest that promoting successful aging among Christian older adults requires the restoration of social capital, the practice of Isaiah's compassion within church communities, and an integrated approach combining social welfare support with biblical care. Future studies should expand the research to diverse regions and religious groups and develop elderly welfare programs based on Isaiah's compassion.
