Since human beings are created in the Image of God, human pathology cannot be understood, excluding God's existence and his creation order. A Christian pathology that considers the categories of sin, dis-order, and suffering enables a christian counselor to make a diagnosis in a holistic level regarding a counselee’s problem. This study proposes a christian pathology of addiction in terms of sin, and presents practical implications for biblical counseling. Addiction essentially is a state in which the ordo amoris established by God is broken. Addiction is a reality that reveals the idol of the heart derived from self-love, and which stems from the absence of true knowledge of God. The absence of the knowledge in turn leads to the loss of awe, and it causes the will for his own glory, which eventually makes people addict on a worldly thing. The primary implication of such understanding is that the ultimate help comes from Christ. Also theknowledge of God in Christ provides a cognitive interpretative framework, seeing everything with new eyes in God's order, giving emotional impression, and presenting a new way of life. This leads to a habit of piety that forms counter-addiction practices in the judgment of love. In that process, it is God’s calling that the church persistently takes care of the addicts within a redemption group and creates supportive culture wiping out the social stigma on addiction. This study is limited to the category of sin, and it is suggested that other categories of Christian pathology on addiction be addressed in subsequent studies.

The purpose of this study is to study the structural relationship between spiritual and psychological well-being, perspective-taking, marital conflict coping behavior, and marriage stability of middle-aged Christian couples. This study investigated and analyzed 724 middle-aged Christian couples in Korea. For statistical data, SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 26.0 were used. All statistical significance levels were set to 5% or less. The results of this study are as follows. First, spiritual and psychological well-being had an effect on couple Perspective-taking, marital conflict coping behavior, and marital stability. Second, Perspective-taking of the couple's view has an effect on marital conflict confrontation behavior and marital stability. Third, marital conflict coping behavior showed an influence on marriage stability. Fourth, spiritual and psychological well-being have a direct effect (B=.165, p<.001) and an indirect effect (B=.089, p<.001) on marital stability through the path of Marital Perspective-taking acceptance and marital conflict coping behavior. Sequential mediating effects were verified. This means that direct effects, indirect effects, and sequential effects have been proven in independent variables, dependent variables, and parametric relationships through this study.

The purpose of this study is to develop the competency model required for a Christian counselor to pursue an effective counseling and figure out the essential competency needed to establish his or her identity. Literature research, depth interviews and open questionnaires were conducted. And three competency groups, nine competency components, and forty three competency indexes were constructed by conducting the 3th Delphi method with thirteen experts. As a result of calculating the relative weights (AHP), the competency group showed the order of attitude and qualification, theoretical knowledge, and performance of technical jobs. For the competency components, the group revealed the order of faith attitude and qualification, professional attitude and qualification and self-examination and self-improvement, knowledge of Christian counseling, knowledge of general counseling, knowledge of Christianity, integrated technique of Christian counseling, technique of counseling performance, and technique of advanced counseling. The priority of competency indicators is the love of souls, reliance on God alone, spiritual counselor, sense of calling, wisdom, sense of duty of soul salvation, spiritual training and growth, sacrifice, and endurance. Thirty-four others have been confirmed. As a result, this study shows that it is based on theory and practice in that Christian faith and psychology and integrated application of spiritual competency make counseling effective for counselees and that faith attitude and qualification are the essential competency for Christian counselors to establish their identity.
