ABSTRACT

This study is a qualitative case study on the experience of relationship loss experienced by middle-aged Christian divorced women. To this end, by in-depth research and analysis of individual experiences and meanings of relationship loss experienced by divorced women, this study tried to clarify the meaning of the recovery process and the role of faith through their own experience of loss of relationship. As a result of the analysis, for each case, sentences that clearly reveal the loss of relationship experiences and meanings of the research participants were extracted, 87 themes, 27 subcategories, and 8 upper categories were derived through meaningful units. As a result of the study, the top 8 categories are 'shattered self', 'life stained with pain', 'daily life trapped in the past', 'heavy life's weight', 'covering up wounds', and 'finding the meaning of life'. , 'restoration of relationship with God', 'recovery of self-identity and life'. The 8 upper categories were classified into 'relationship loss experience', 'recovery process', and 'role of faith', which are the topics covered by the research question. The purpose of this study is to provide practical solutions to help middle-aged divorced Christian women effectively in Christian counseling and church care settings who are experiencing relationship loss. The study aims to provide a framework for follow-up research as well.
