ABSTRACT

The purpose of this research was to conduct item validity analysis of a cognitive area of developmental screening inventory assessing developmental state of preschoolers. Explorations of item analysis (item difficulty and discrimination) and item internal consistency yielded evidence of content validity. The cognitive skills of the infants until 35 months increased gradually, and 54 month afters it appeared with the fact that the motor ability maintains a stable level. Each item also reflected an age change appropriately. Against the result regarding gender difference was discussed.
