ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study would present basic data to seek positive change in the society in general as well as the future special education, social welfare after considering the change degree of disability recognition through all classes of society, started from disability related law making period such as The Bill of Anti-Discrimination against the Handicapped People(April, 10, 2007) and The Special Education Law of Individuals with Disabilities and Like(May, 25, 2007). To achieve the goal, we have chosen the newspaper articles playing much a role in the mass media as an analysis object. Among the major dailies, the Chosun ilbo and the Hankyoreh news was selected because they have a different propensity to report against each other. Then, we have compared and contrasted the difference before and after making the law with the whole contents from January, 1, 2007 to December, 12, 2007 in the dailies by the application of four subjects- the monthly trends of disability related terms, sectioned features of the article, the frequency of disability types and the actual condition of terms description
