ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to analyze an acceptance attitudes toward the children with disabilities according to the variables of family and classroom environment perceived by children. Subjects were 650 elementary school students. Instrumentation were questionnaires from the multicultural parenting attitudes scale, classroom climate scale and acceptance attitudes scale toward the handicapped children. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, the acceptance attitude scores toward the children with disabilities were significantly correlated with the multicultural parenting attitudes and the classroom climate subvariables perceived by children. Second, Multiple regression analysis explained that the acceptance attitude scores toward the children with disabilities were highly affected by the multicultural parenting attitudes and the classroom climate subvariables.
