ABSTRACT

It is accepted that education software contents are valuable to offer suitable educational service to students with disabilities. Nevertheless, the educational softwares are not actively used in the field of special education. On this matter, many suggestions have been raised by researchers and school teachers. Among them is the lack of the suitable evaluation criterion for educational software contents in special education. The purpose of this study was, first, to develop an evaluation criterion for educational software contents and, second, apply it to analyze software contents for students with disabilities to find improvements. For this ends, first, preliminary contents evaluation criterion was constructed, and then second, through the validation process with 114 special education teachers, the evaluation criterion of educational software contents for education of students with disabilities was developed. The evaluation criterion was consisted of 3 domains including educational value, contents expression skills, contents information · convenience, 9 indexes and 45 items. Next, 18 software contents for education of students with disabilities was evaluated by the evaluation criterion. Some recommendations were suggested based on the result of evaluation to find the improvement of quality of software contents.
