AB - The purpose of this study was to survey people with disabilities living in Daegu city on their demand for Assistive Technology Service Center and to identify their primary needs. The survey had carried out from August 2009 to September 2009. And 200 had participated in survey, 113 of available data were analyzed. Through this study, the necessity of setting up an assistive technology service center which aimed at people with disabilities living in Daegu city was identified. Tasks like information provision, consultation and evaluation, manufacture and modification devices and user training should be performed by assistive technology experts and financial support from local government, public benefit, and health insurance were needed in using assistive technology. The results of this study were expected to be used as a groundwork for decision of scale, devisal of plan and management of further community- based assistive technology service center.
