ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to propose the direction of revision of the Korean language curriculum for the students with hearing impairment in perspective of Korean language subject matter and Korean language education for the students with hearing impairment. The main results are as follows; On the assumption that the Korean language curriculum for the students with hearing impairment has to be separated from Korean language curriculum for regular school, firstly, the analysis of linguistic views implied that simultaneous consideration of korean language using abilities and thinking abilities based on instrumental and developmental linguistic view, reflection of the deaf culture and their language, adaptation of instrumental linguistic view not functional view, establishment of the deaf identity as korean. The direction of revision of KLC for internalizing korean language rules is to compose core abilities centered curriculum and to intensify the integrated grammar education for improving students' language accuracy. Finally, related to adoption of sign language into korean language curriculum, it’s necessary to include the sign language into korean language subject systematically, at sam time to open 『sign language』 subject, and the natural sign language(KSL) has to be introduced to the Korean language curriculum for the hearing impairment in perspective of linguistic moral and 2Bi-approach.
