Reliability and Validity of the Braille Version of RA-RCP Reading Fluency Assessment

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to examine the reliability and validity of the braille version of RA-RCP reading fluency sub-test. The subjects were 139 blind students of 12 schools for the visual impaired from the first grade through 12th grade. The instrument for measuring a reading fluency was used the reading fluency sub-test of RA-RCP. The results of the study are as follows:First, Cronbach’s α and test-retest reliability coefficient were more than 0.9Second, concurrent validity between the word fluency of KOLRA and the reading fluency of RA-RCP were found significant correlations. And It tended to increase depending on the grade and the learning period of braille. So, the reliability and validity of the braille version of RA-RCP Reading Fluency assessment were demonstrated satisfactory level.
