ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to investigate how the general education documents at the national and regional level present the education for students with disabilities. To do this, this study reviewed the General Guidelines in 2009 Revised Curriculum and 17 MPOE(MetropolitanㆍProvince Office of Education) Curriculum Arrangement and Implementation Guidelines at the elementary and middle school level. The results are as follows. First, the General Guidelines mentioned 3 times on education for students with disabilities and most of MOPE have the same contents as the General Guidelines includes. In the cases of having additive guidelines in MOPE, the scope and specificity varied depending on MOPE. Some MOPE did not describe in detail on education for students with disabilities but only inform the teachers to reference the documents related to special education. Also, there were needed special educator’s review on the contents and terms in MOPE Curriculum Arrangement and Implementation Guidelines for the exact guidance. Finally, there needed more concrete guidelines for general education teachers to support their students with disabilities.
