ABSTRACT

The purposes of this research were to examine the effects of positive behavior support on the problem and class participation behaviors of middle school students with autism which accompany intellectual disabilities. Subject of this research was a student with autism which accompany intellectual disabilities who was attached to H special school in Jeollanam-do. For this study, multiple probe across Three problem behaviors design was applied. And using partial-interval recording, the events of action was measured. Also variation of each session were presented as graphs. Mediation consists of antecedent-centered, replacement behavior-centered, subsequent outcome-centered mediation intervention. Results of this study were as follows. First, positive behavior support was highly efficient in decreasing problem behaviors of student with autism which intellectual disabilities. The incidence of problem behaviors were decreased. Second, positive behavior support was efficient in increasing of student with intellectual disabilities. Third, decreased problem behaviors and increased participation behaviors in class were maintained. In conclusion, positive behavior support was efficient method for decreasing problem behaviors and increasing class participation behaviors of students with autism which accompany intellectual disabilities positively.
