AB - [Purpose] This study aims to examine the Paralympic participation experience of the disabled table tennis team, which is still marginalized from interest to the general public, and what it means. [Method] What is the process of participating in the Paralympics through in-depth interviews with research participants who have participated in the table tennis Paralympics? What is the process of participating in the Paralympics and winning a prize? The meaning of life of the Paralympics was classified by period and the context of the story was analyzed to derive an interpretation. [Results] The results of the study are as follows. First, all participants gained unwanted disabilities due to unexpected accidents in the military, and as they encountered table tennis for rehabilitation, it is a hope that they can live again. Second, participation in the Paralympics had to overcome not only time and cost, but also the pain of indifference, discrimination, and disability. Third, their athletic conditions have been improving since they became Paralympic champions, but they were still concerned about their hardships. [Conclusion] We need more attention from the media and others, along with practical support for disabled athletes preparing for the Paralympics while overcoming the still lack of interest and support.
