ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to present the direction and demand of coaching education for the development and operation of coaching curriculum for university students. This study conducted in-depth interviews with experts and a survey of 500 female university students located in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. In order to secure the ethical aspect of research, approval was obtained from the institutional research ethics committee of the affiliated university. SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0 were used for data analysis in this study. According to the demands of university student coaching education, the results of expert opinion and demand survey on the possibility and importance of coaching education as a liberal arts course in university are as follows. First, coaching education at universities emphasized by experts emphasizes the practice of coaching philosophy and the direction of coaching education based on it. In addition, various extracurricular program development were proposed to spread the coaching culture. Second, as for female university students' educational needs for university coaching education, among the detailed factors, the education demand for coaching leadership competency was found to be the highest, followed by coaching skills and coaching basis. Third, the proposed applying the detailed plan for improving the quality of college coaching education based on the educational needs information obtained by expert interviews and detailed factors.
