AB - The main purpose of this study is to analyse and evaluate the metadata elements of 'Records System' and 'Electronic Document System' specifications for Korean government agencies based on functional requirements of ISO 15489. This present paper begins with discussing the characteristics
of recordskeeping metada, and extract the metadata elements fulfilling the ISO 15489
functional requirements. And this study tries to compare the metadata elements of current
specifications with ISO 15489 elements. Based on these analyses, it suggests the directions for improving current metadata specifications and for developing national metadata standard.
