ABSTRACT

The research aims to develop a training program for prospective librarians in order to help them better prepared for library practicum. To achieve the purpose of the research, the research analyzes pre-librarians’ expectation and needs of the pre-training program and designs a mock pre-training program for practicing library practicum effectively and efficiently. After running the mock pre-training program to library practicum participants in the department of Library and Information Science at H University, their satisfaction and feedback of the mock program are also assessed. On the basis of the findings from implementing the mock pre-training program, the research proposes the final contents of a pre-training program for preparing library practicum and the detailed methods for implementing the proposed pre-training program.
