As an attempt to understand the publishing culture of every region in the Joseon period, this study analyzes the Catalogue of the Woodblocks to examine the woodblock printing in Seonsan, Gyeongbuk Province, which was well-known for Youngnam Confucian Scholars. First of all, in this study, based on the historical documents and the actual inspection of books, historical and cultural characteristics of the Seonsan region is reviewed. Then, the contents of books mentioned in the Catalogue of the Woodblocks are specifically discussed. It could help describe the printing situations of individual publications, and understand better the general situation of woodblock printing culture in Seonsan region.Twelve titles of books published in the early Joseon, and thirty two titles of books published in the late Joseon are finally confirmed. Most of them are the Confucian classics and educational books compiled in the early Joseon period. Compared with the late Joseon, the majority of printing blocks made at private residences focused on the private collection of local works or the authentic record. Also, this study introduces Seonsan-Bu Sojae Chaekpanki recently known as the catalogue of the woodblocks located in Seonsan, and examines its editorial style, the period and background of its publication, and the contents of printing blocks listed in the book.In the Joseon period, most provincial districts collected their own printing blocks, and printed books with them. Some of those blocks have been handed down until now. In order to inherit, preserve and develop them as local historical and cultural tradition, more research on the scale and types of publications and the investigation on their existence should be conducted.
