This study empirically examines the factors influencing the DINK intentions of unmarried working women in Seoul who are engaged in employment activities, classified by income level, using Binary Logistic Regression analysis. The main findings are as follows. First, single female workers expressed doubts about childbirth even if they got married. Second, the debt of unmarried female workers was identified as a significant factor influencing DINK intentions. Third, regarding the residential environment, apartment dwelling and homeownership emerged as key determinants of DINK intentions. In particular, the tenure type significantly affected the high-income group, while the housing type significantly affected the low and middle income groups. Fourth, safety and care in life were found to be important factors in lowering DINK intentions. Fifth, while satisfaction with commuting conditions and working hours increased the willingness to have children, higher job quality among middle income female workers paradoxically increased DINK intentions. Sixth, work-life balance, financial satisfaction, and the possibility of social achievement and upward mobility significantly influenced the DINK intentions of middle and high income single women. Based on these results, this study suggests policy implications for comprehensive support for young childbearing families, job retention after childbirth, flexible working hours, and housing support.

Venture companies, as small and medium-sized enterprises with significant growth potential, play a crucial role in local employment, knowledge creation, and regional competitiveness. Venture capital (VC) is closely involved in the growth of venture companies by acquiring equity or ownership stakes in firms whose performance has not yet been demonstrated. This study examines the relationship between venture capital and venture companies from various theoretical perspectives and analyzes the effect of geographic proximity on the scale of VC investments using regression models (1) to (6). The analysis results indicate that in models (1) and (2), for every 1km increase in distance, the investment amount decreases by 0.0676 billion KRW or 0.07%. In model (3), where interaction terms between the investment stage and the distance variable were included, none of the interaction terms were statistically significant. In the model limited to the Seoul region (model 4), for seed-stage venture companies, every 1km increase in distance led to a 3.09% decrease in the investment amount. However, for later-stage companies, such as those in the Series C stage, the investment amount increased as the distance grew. The spatial error models (5) and (6), which account for spatial autocorrelation, yielded results consistent with those of model (2) and model (4). This demonstrates that the effect of geographic proximity on investment amount differs depending on the growth stage of the venture company due to the varying challenges faced at each stage.

This study examines the current status of statistics for territorial and regional policy implementation concerning foreign residents and suggests improvements. It analyzes the survey methods and characteristics of major statistics, including the Ministry of Justice's "Korea Immigration Statistics", the Ministry of Interior and Safety's "Status of Foreign Residents in Local Governments", the Statistics Korea‘s "Population and Housing Census", the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport 's "Status of Foreign Land and Housing Ownership", and the Statistics Korea-Ministry of Justice's "Survey on Immigrant's Living Conditions and Labour Force". The study compares administrative districts level statistics between the Ministry of Justice's "Long-term Foreign Residents" and the Ministry of Interior's "Non-Korean Nationals". The analysis reveals that regional differences stem from variations in statistical compilation methods, such as the inclusion of undocumented residents and the application of a 91-day continuous stay criterion. These differences are particularly pronounced in metropolitan areas with high concentrations of overseas Koreans and industrial complexes with numerous undocumented residents. The study suggests guidelines for selecting appropriate statistics and proposes improvements including better undocumented resident statistics, support for various attribute combinations, and new statistics on foreign residents' inter-regional movement.
