The Relationship between Ability Belief and Self-management of University Students who Major in Dance

ABSTRACT

A purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between ability belief and self-management among university students who major in dance. 275 university students majoring dance completed questionnaires assessing their ability belief and self-management. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results indicated that students' self-management was positively related to incremental belief more than entity belief, results of stepwise multiple regression analysis, elevation in incremental belief was strongly predicted training management, mental readiness management, performance training management, daily living management. The result were discussed in context of multidimensional approach to ability belief and necessity of future studies related to ability belief in dance education.
