Development and Application of Dance Program on Expression of Children from Low Income Family

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to promote emotional and social ability of the children from low income families and develop a dance program. Main interview subject was regarding the educational status of the children in low-income families and required program for an effective education. The dance program model was developed in accordance with interview results and expert group meetings. A dance program is to promote ability of physical and self expression through self-discovery and interaction with other people. Accordingly, the study formed the dance program with 2 following motion factors: mime, broadcasting dance, and dance sports. Developed dance program was applied to 12 children in low income families who belong to D self welfare center. Measuring instruments were used for language expression ability, drawing ability dance needs. The results are as follows:1. Developed dance program is effective to promote children's language expression ability. 2. Developed dance program is effective to promote children's drawing expression ability.
