A Narrative Inquiry on Criticism of Dance Classes of Creative Experience Activity in Elementary School

ABSTRACT

The purpose of the study is to propose educational implications provided by narrative perspective through teachers' self-criticism of teaching in dance classes connected with creative experience activity in elementary school. This study is a narrative study on teaching criticism and was composed of qualitative research to describe, analyze, interpret, and evaluate teaching by making as an analysis text teaching phenomenon. Findings of the study were crystallized as follows. First, it was found that teaching contents were composed of development levels and teaching objectives, mind and body flexible, and theme associated with playing elements. Second, teaching methods were observed that theme selection and actualization by step, questioning systems, inquiry and development of movements, storytelling of cooperative learning and movements and so forth were applied. Third, it was found that teaching experience and criticism of the dance class were contributing to the teacher's growth narrative.
