ABSTRACT

The objective of this study was to develop standards for the themes and taxonomy of dance occupations for providing systematic career intervention, career education, and career information in relation to the dance majors. This study conducted Holland’s Vocational Personality Inventory to 18 expert panel members based on literature review. The themes and taxonomy of dance occupations were verified by Delphi survey and expert meeting procedures. The conclusion was discussed as follows. Firstly, this study classified jobs in the dance field into six occupational clusters based on literature analysis and a vocational aptitude test. Secondly, this study identified job types for the six occupational clusters and selected 96 jobs in dance and dance-related fields based on the general occupational classification. Thirdly, this study constructed an occupational taxonomy in the dance field by classifying jobs in dance and dance-related fields based on the classification category of Korean standard occupational classification.
