ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between perfectionism and competitive anxiety among dance high school students preparing for college entrance examination in the evaluation situation of dance competition. This study can be concluded as follows; 1) Perfectionism and cognitive anxiety were correlated positively with each other (r=.363) at the level of p<.05. Specifically, students' cognitive anxiety was affected by such variables as excessive concern about mistake, parents' criticism, suspicion of performance and individuals' criteria. 2) Perfectionism and physical anxiety were correlated positively with each other at the level of p<.01. (r=.275). Specifically, students' physical anxiety was affected by such variables as excessive concern about mistake, parents' criticism and suspicion of performance. 3) Perfectionism and confidence were correlated negatively with each other at the level of p<.01. (r=-0.06). Specifically, students' confidence was affected by such variables as parents' criticism, individuals' criteria and suspicion of performance.
