AB - This study analyzes various movements in La Fresque choreographed by Angelin Preljocaj based on‘the thought of the body’ proposed by Jean-Luc Nancy to examine the aesthetic meaning of the body. Iinvestigated the body composition in which materiality and non-materiality are integrated, a conceptthat Nancy discussed in Corpus to explain ‘the thought of the body’. As a result of the analysis, I foundthat the choreography for Preljocaj’s La Fresque reflects the universal and distinct characteristics ofmovement associated with the notion of materiality and non-materiality in terms of the aestheticsignificance of the body. Therefore, The significance of this study is as follows. I narrows the gapamong fragmentary analyses of the dancing body defined by different perceptions and languages.
Furthermore, it is confirmed that the dancing body comprising the corpus is created through theintegration of material and non-material.
