ABSTRACT

The purpose of this research is to explore the educational possibilities of fostering creativity throughdance education based on the values of ESD. The study primarily adopts a literature review approachbased on Kim’s (2013) components of holistic contemporary dance education and Guilford’s (1956)perspective on divergent and convergent thinking. According to research results, it was shown that elements of convergent and divergent thinking can becultivated in each component of ‘Kinesis’, ‘Noesis’, ‘Poesis’, and ‘Gnosis’ through dance education(Kim, 2013). The significance of this research is to investigate the potential of dance education to foster cultivatecreativity for sustainability and to propose a theoretical foundation for systematization.
