AB - This study comprehensively examines the transmission of Korean dance in the Korean community in the United States, including the Midwest, South, and Northeast regions, and It aims to identify the characteristics of this transmission in the United States. The results of analyzing seven Korean dance transmission groups, which were selected through literature research and in-depth interviews, are as follows.
First, most of the transmission subjects are Korean dance majors who completed higher education in Korea and immigrated to the United States.
Second, the dance repertories performed by Korean dance groups, mainly focused on traditional dances.
Third, it can be seen that Korean dance in the United States has been passed down through the first, second, and third generations.
