ABSTRACT

This study examines research trends in Pilates-related scholarship within dance education using text mining techniques. Fifty-seven studies containing relevant title keywords were systematically identified from domestic academic journals and dissertations. The analysis was divided into general and in-depth trends. General trends were categorized by publication year, publication type, methodological approach, and content domain, while in-depth trends focused on 26 experimental studies investigating the effects of Pilates. All selected studies were additionally analyzed through text mining to identify dominant keyword patterns. The findings indicate that Pilates research in dance has predominantly emphasized effect-oriented investigations across various dance populations. Keyword analysis revealed a strong focus on the kinesiological impacts of Pilates programs on dance majors. Furthermore, most experimental studies employed single-group designs with approximately ten or fewer participants. These results underscore the need for future research to employ more rigorous methodological designs and more detailed analytical perspectives to strengthen evidence-based validity.
