AB - Records management begins at the time of production of the record. Public institutions need control methods and policies to ensure that records are produced and managed properly. Korea introduced the Records production report from the point of time when the Public Records Management Act was enacted to control the records from the production date. However, the Records production report is not operating for that purpose, so records managers and archivists are raising uselessness. In addition, there are differences over whether to keep the system or not, even within the National Archives of Korea. Therefore, the reasons for the existence of this policy, problems in operation, and opinions on alternatives were summarized through interviews with records managers and archivists.
