This paper attempts to examine acceptance environments’ influence on translation text by comparing two versions, Chinese and Taiwanese, with Korean original novels. This paper also assumes that a horizon of expectation, which is composed of prior knowledges under certain circumstances, gives a receptor a kind of perception’s framework in accepting foreign texts. However, there must be gaps between SL and TL receivers to the same texts because of the different backgrounds in language and culture. China and Taiwan have walked different political lines, Socialism and Capitalism, respectively, since 1949, and it has caused differences in acceptance environments, even though they have had the same language and culture for a long time. Analysing the influence of acceptance environments on acculturation of TT consists of two parts, what and how to mediate. This paper confirms that cultural items, politically susceptible contents and perceptionally different lexicons were mediated, and deletion, reduced translation, alternative lexicalization, explanation and translator’s note are the way to mediate. There are big differences in Chinese version compared with Taiwanese on the contents of state, nation, territory, political leader, however there is little acculturation in the contents of homosexuality, mixed maturation.
