ABSTRACT

The glyph of Chinese characters is one of the attributes of Chinese characters and also reflects the uniqueness of Chinese characters. Chinese character glyphs have brought great obstacles to learners whose mother tongue is phonemic orthography to learn and write Chinese characters. This is because people have different cognitive psychology towards phonogram and ideogram. At present, there are few studies on the influence of cognitive psychology on writing Chinese characters by Chinese learners. Using Gestalt psychology theory, this paper classifies and discusses 115 Chinese character writing errors collected and sorted out from the corpus. Through the research methods of error analysis and statistical analysis, it finds out the cognitive psychological factors that have strong interference when beginning level Korean Chinese learners write Chinese characters. The results show that six perceptual organization principles influence the Chinese character writing, among which the Principle of similarity and the Law of Pragnanz cause the most errors. This study is helpful to clarify the important and difficult points in the teaching of Chinese character, and can reduce the learners' writing errors to a certain extent.
