ABSTRACT

Globalization and Transculturation made the new development of Chinese Language, Literature and Culture in Southeast Asia. This paper is divided into eight parts and subjects treated in each part are aspects of Chinese Culture, Transculturation, and the motif of Southeast Asia Chinese Literature. Part one to part three aims to draw up a theoretical base for Chinese Culture which relates both Transculturation and Motif. Part four to part eight deals with the trends in “The Basic Rules for Accurate Motif” These Rules were derived from a draft by Professor Yang Kuanghan in 1999 and latter reviewed and modified. This paper aims to find out the relationship between Chinese Culture and the key words on Motif of Southeast Asia Chinese literature.
