AB - Metaphor is not merely a method of thinking; it is a linguistic and cultural phenomenon; New words can be made with metaphor. The paper aims to explore the roles metaphor plays in new meaning of lexical and proposes metaphor‐based Chinese‐teaching as a foreign language.
