AB - “Writings are for conveying truth”, it is the main idea of Chinese ancient literary theory. Its meaning is reflected in the literary works of Confucianism, in order to reflect the Confucian “rule of virtue”, “people‐oriented” as the focus of political ethics. Its essence is pays attention to the human conscience and social responsibility. The problem is that literature has become a tool for political service, the utility is too strong, ignoring its aesthetic and other characteristics. Chinese scholars Mr. Nie Zhenzhao, combine with Western literature theory, to create the “ethical literary criticism theory”, more applicable and contemporary significance in the study of comparative literature.
