ABSTRACT

With the auditory turn in information reception, audio consumption, represented by podcast programs, has gradually become a mainstream form of media consumption. There is immense potential in using audio content creation in cultural podcasts for cultural dissemination and international exchange. This study employs text mining as a research method to analyze the content creation of the cultural podcast Why We Love Dunhuang, exploring its explicit creative methods and implicit communication intentions in international communication. The study finds that the program, through a primary perspective, narrates the symbol clusters of Dunhuang, showcasing the unique charm of Dunhuang culture, thereby enhancing podcast listeners' understanding and recognition of Chinese culture and providing practical insights for improving the international communication of Chinese culture. However, international communication is inherently a two-way interactive process. A singular primary perspective, the piling up of symbol clusters, and the generalization of emotional communication may inadvertently lead to cultural misinterpretation and distortion.
