AB - Lee In-Sang’s A Taoist Immortal as Swordsman has been interpreted as a portrait of the artist himself, or as a portrait of Yu Hu who was given the painting. From a critical viewpoint on those two interpretations, this paper attempted a new interpretation with an emphasis on the relationship between the artist and the presentee.
