ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to analyze the trends and questions in the initial examination for the selection of elementary school teachers focusing on Moral Education, and to explore future improvement tasks. To achieve this, the study analyzed the trends and questions from the initial examination for the selection of elementary school teachers in Moral Education over the past eight school years (2017~2024), considering both quantitative and qualitative aspects of the examination. Based on the results of the critical analysis, the study proposed directions for the development of future questions. The results are as follows. Firstly, in terms of content, it is necessary to develop questions that take into account the evaluation of practical teaching competencies. Secondly, in terms of item design, it is important to develop items that minimize unnecessary information. Thirdly, both in terms of content and design, it is essential to develop items that respect the judgment of the test takers. The examination serves a dual purpose of selecting and educating good teachers, so efforts should be made to ensure its validity.
