ABSTRACT

The area of 'relations with society and community' cultivates the ability to internalize and practice the values and norms that must be equipped as a democratic citizen. In this study, a new direction for the composition of moral textbooks in this area was sought. For the study, the current moral textbook was first analyzed and it was revealed that there are problems with the appropriateness of educational content, educational activities, and educational materials regarding human rights, fairness, unification, and human love in the relevant area. Subsequently, the achievement standards in the third areas of the 2022 revised elementary moral curriculum were analyzed to examine the contents that are being pursued with emphasis in the new curriculum. And based on the analysis of current textbooks and new achievement standards, the direction of the composition of new 5th and 6th grade moral textbooks was proposed. First, regarding human rights, the necessity of applying practical activities was emphasized, and for a just community, it was argued that the contents of the operation of the classroom community should be reflected in the textbook. In addition, he insisted on the need to apply various digital technologies, including gamification, and specifically proposed setting human love in a way that recognizes and empathizes with the problems of people in other countries and seeks solutions in their own situations.
