ABSTRACT

Using content analysis, this study analyzes the research trend of 123 Chinese studies published in seven tourism KCI journals from 2012 to 2017. The results of the study shows that the rate of researches authored by two persons seems to be increased year by year. In addition, the frequent field and subject of Chinese tourists research turns out tourism & medical industry, and marketing area, respectively. Consumer behaviors are more frequent in the marketing subdivision, and similar results are obtained in the keyword analysis. Regarding research methodology, study sample is mainly tourists drawn by convenience sampling. The sample size is frequent in the group of 201-300 and more than 401. Questionnaire is a main method to carry out the research and descriptive statistics, factor/cluster/ discriminant analysis, & regression analysis were mostly used. The characteristics of references shows that the average number of references is 48.14 per research paper and the researches cited more recent domestic papers than the foreign papers. This study discusses the implications of the study and future research directions.
