AB - The conceptual definition and effect of storytelling contents are presented by identifying each construct of storytelling based of the existing literature reviews. In addition to the contents of storytelling applied to tourism resources, the effects of contents are theoretically and conceptually discussed. The purposes of this study are to investigate the relationships between the effects of contents and place attachment as well as between the components of storytelling and the effects of contents. Based on the theoretical bases of previous research, the components of storytelling are identified as creativity, descriptiveness, and metaphor. Also, the constructs of the contents effects are identified as image association, presence, understanding, and interesting. In the results of the research hypotheses, the creativity, descriptiveness, and metaphor of storytelling have significantly positive relationships with image association, presence, understanding, and interesting of contents effects. Finally, the mediating effects of contents effects excluding understanding are significantly related to storytelling and place attachment. In conclusion, the implications for storytelling contents are discussed for the marketing and promotion strategies.
