ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to explore apprentice jockeys’learning experience of horsemanship. Narrative analysis was used to achieve the goal of research. Three participants were involved in this study. The data of research was collected from mainly in‐depth interviews with the participants. The findings of the study are as follows: First, the elements constituting the narrative of apprentice jockey in each learner's life were necessary and sufficient conditions to their experiences of learning the horsemanship. Therefore, the experience of self-directed learning the horsemanship is the opportunity to restart their new life arranging the meaning of their life. Second, the experience of apprentice jockey learning the horsemanship is to be the reason of their beings, connect between the present and the future, result in the method and the purpose of developing their wisdom in life.
