ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to analyze the trends of research on entrepreneurship education in Korea, and to achieve practical goals by laying the theoretical foundation. To achieve the purpose, the following research questions have been established: First, what are the research trends on entrepreneurship education each year within last decade? Second, what are the academic field of research on entrepreneurship education? Third, what are the theme of research on entrepreneurship education? Fourth, what are the study trends on entrepreneurship education related? For this study, 151 of the papers published in Korea from 2002 to January 2019 were selected for analysis and analyzed using the content analysis. The results were as follows: First, the research on entrepreneurship education has been actively conducted since 2012, and since 2017, research has been conducted in both primary and secondary education institutions, higher education institutions, public institutions and companies. Second, entrepreneurship education is mainly conducted in the field of business administration and pedagogy-education. Third, entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education are most frequently mentioned in the topic of entrepreneurship education study. In addition, it is confirmed that entrepreneurship education is introduced as one of contents for training human resources suitable for a changing age. Fourth, study subjects for entrepreneurship were the highest among university students, followed by entrepreneurs, high school students and social entrepreneurs. The result of this study is meaningful in that it presents basic data necessary for the development and operation of entrepreneurship education program by examining research trends of entrepreneurship education in Korea. Based on these results, we can provide a positive strategy for applying and promoting entrepreneurship education in the future education field.
