ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to develop a core competence test for preservice early childhood teachers and to examine the validity and reliability. To develop a core competence test for preservice early childhood teachers research related to core competence was analyzed to form a definition of core competence. 7 factors and 50 questions were selected as the preliminary questions. To select the final questions, an exploratory factor analysis was conducted for 385 preservice early childhood teachers in Chungnam as a preliminary question to develop a test for 22 questions with 5 factors. To verify the construct validity and concurrent validity, a confirmatory factor analysis was conducted on 336 preservice early childhood teachers and a correlation analysis between early childhood teachers core competence. As a result of the verification of the test, it was found that the construct validity, concurrent validity & internal consistency were appropriate. Thus, developed a core competence test for preservice early childhood teachers had construct validity and internal consistency.
