AB - Korean idol group BTS, which debuted in 2013 and is now in its 10th year, has established itself as a global artist BTS. Th is study aims to identify the new human image suggested by BTS’ song lyrics.
In Chapter 2 it is confi rmed that with the growth of BTS, the process of fi nding their identity is expanding to the process of fi nding a universal human image and idealism. Th is process is also to present an important critical perspective to convey to mankind, who is facing a new human era.
In Chapter 3, focusing on ‘Anpanman’ as a micro-hero, which is BTS’s idealized hero, I examined what a hero in the posthuman era looks like. Th e heroes BTS draws are vulnerable and small beings. Th is is not the strength of “we” but also an eff ort to look at humans anew through the weakness of “you”. Th ese heroes are also meaningful in that they are heroes that all mankind can be, and above all, they voluntarily stand in the position of heroes.
In Chapter 4, we tried to find out ‘what’ they wanted to save each other and ‘what relationship meant’ to them. Through the concept of ‘microcosm’, BTS shows a monadic perspective that accepts human uniqueness as it is. Monad has a position of ‘relationalism’. It can also suggest a new view of human beings through relationships in connection with ANT.
In this way, the message that BTS conveys to all beings, “Speak Yourself,” will be an important slogan that humanity must remember in the new human era.
