ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics found in the reproduction of these videos by setting up a video group based on the sijo on the YouTube platform, and to examine the meaning of the production and enjoyment of YouTube videos based on this. As a result of the study, in Chapter 2, YouTube video contents on the subject of Sijo, which correspond to the top 50 rankings, were sorted based on the number of views, and the aspects and characteristics of these videos were analyzed. Video title, channel name, number of views, posting date, and playback time were set as detailed items for analysis. Based on the analysis of the video aspects and characteristics within the top 50, Chapter 3 attempted to examine the expression of the sijo found in the combination of the sijo and YouTube, and the possibility and meaning of expanding enjoyment. The combination of the sijo and YouTube made it possible to break away from the dichotomous perspective of “sijo as letters, sijo as music” and expand the expression of the sijo. Second, it was considered that by analyzing the fact that there were cases where individual instructors sought various methods of sijo education using the characteristics of the YouTube platform and produced videos in various ways, it could lead to the search for diversification of sijo education and the search for a practical digital education methodology of the sijo. Third, this paper attempted to examine the meaning of Sijo-based YouTube videos as a magnetic field of Sijo memes formed through various interactions of viewers. However, this paper has a limitation in that it was not possibleto specifically confirm the reaction pattern of users watching YouTube on the subject of the sijo. This will be a follow-up task and will be expanded to specific research in thefuture.
