ABSTRACT

The academic community accepted that there was no Baekje Idu. But recently there began to be claims for the existence of Baekje Idu. This paper reviewed the Idu of Baekje. It was concluded that there is no Baekje Idu in the existing literature. In Chapter 2, we looked at the tombstone of King Muryeong, the tombstone of Queen Muryeong, the silver bracelet unearthed from The Tomb of King Muryeong, the brick from The Tomb of King. The Tomb of King Muryeong was heavily influenced by the Southern Dynasties of China. The text materials excavated from the Tomb of King Muryeong and the gold stone materials from the Period of the North and South Dynasties of China are compared. As a result, all the texts were written in Classical Chinese. In Chapter 3, we looked at the literature of Wooden strips. In previous studies, the word order of phrases 3 and 4 of the Baekje poem were regarded as Korean word order and this poem was interpreted as Idu. But this kind of structure is common in Classical Chinese characters, so it is not a bad expression in Classical Chinese grammar. On the other hand, it is clear that Idu exists in the Wooden strips of Dongnamri. However, the Wooden strips of Dongnamri is not the Wooden strips of Baekje, but it is the Wooden strips of the Unified Silla.
