AB - At a time when the ideology of ChuｰHsi's teaching was developed to the greatest extent, Park, Seｰdang confronted the contradictions ChuｰHsi's ideology revealed and proposed the practices that attached importance to the reality. Park's writing, Sapyeonrok, did not totally free himself from recognizing the world based on Neoｰ Confucianism. However, his writing turned out significant in that it cast doubt on and reｰexamined the interpretation of Classics by ChuｰHsi, which had been accepted without doubt. Deviated from ChuｰHsi's universalism, Sapyeonrokwas pursued as the basis for human beings' active practices in Classics. In this vein, Park, Seｰ dang could be rated as one who paved the way for the objective inquiry into human beings.
