AB - Yeojin,which was closely located to Joseon across Tumen River,was alwaysathreattonationalsecurity.SoJoseon took advantageoffriendly forceBunho (a localbranch ofYeojin)asa bumperofJoseon'snational defensebygivingthem agovernmentservice,orlandandfood.Butatthe end of16th century,Pacification Policy ofJoseon to Bunho (as written above)graduallylostitsfunction andfinallytotalinvasion ofBunho,who wasfriendlytoJoseon before,calledTheRebellionofTang-GaeNioccurred inthe16thyearofKingSunjo(theyearof1583). Hamgyeong Province,where the rebellion was took place,had peculiar defensesystem duetogeographicalfactor:i.e.Tumen River,narrow road,wide defense area,and smallmilitary scale.So Military-Divide Policy of Jeseungbangryak,the system protests Yeojin's invasion in advance,was carried out.Itwasa method ofdispatching closelylocated MilitaryCamp (today'sGOP)orreserveforcestotheplacewherethecombatburstedand additionalmilitary forces were needed.This system was totally different from Jingwan system in southern areathatstrengthenslocaldefenseand restrictscommanders'righttosupportotherregionathisopinion
