ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics in generative naming and to compare the school-aged children of multi-cultural family and Ordinary family, and across the academic years. The participated children were 29(girl:22, boy:7) children multi-cultural family and 33(girl:27, boy:6) children of ordinary family, with the semantic of animal and goods in store, and the phonetic of /ㄱ/ and /ㅅ/. On the generative naming of semantic and phonetic, we take a look at the number of words, number of clusters, and number of switches. The following results were obtained: 1. From generative naming of semantic, and phonetic, the number of words, the number of clusters, and number of switches were noticeably less in children of multicultural family than children of ordinary family 2. From generative naming of semantic, and phonetic, the number of words, the number of clusters, and number of switches significantly different between 5 academic age groups in children of ordinary family, but multi-cultural family.
