AB - The purpose of this study was to investigate the career barriers of intellectual disabilities who attended general middle schools. Interviews with 10 mothers of students with intellectual disabilities were conducted in order to investigate the mothers’ experiences with their student with intellectual disabilities. Three themes emerged from qualitative analysis: (1) the impact of student’s career barriers (2) the task of empowerment for intellectual disabilities, and (3) the support needed for raising student with intellectual disabilities. Implications for policy and practices for student with intellectual disabilities was provided.
